For this project you will need:
  • a 1 1-2 inch wide by 7 to 8 inch long band of Cross Stitch fabric (a Ribband bookmark will work, or cut your own band of fabric)

  • a 5 by 7 inch blank card form

  • craft adhesive spray

  1. Stitch a small design on the band of Cross Stitch fabric. The design used for this card is from the free Graduation motifs collection, but you may choose any design that will fit the band of fabric and the occasion. Be sure that the design will not exceed the width of the card.

  2. Trim the band of fabric to the same width of the card. Apply a fray blocking agent to the edges of the fabric if desired.

  3. Clip all loose threads from the back of the design. Launder if necessary.

  4. Iron the band, if necessary, to remove any wrinkles.

  5. After the band of Aida has cooled, spray acid-free adhesive on the back of the band. You may use glue, but be sure to use an acid-free glue that is designed to bond different types of materials.

  6. Apply the band to the card. Make sure it is exactly where you want it, then press firmly to ensure a good bond with the card stock.

  7. Allow to dry completely.

  8. Add a saying or personal message, place the card in the envelope, and mail or hand deliver your Cross Stitch card.
