Removing Blood From Cross Stitch Fabric - Bren's Stain Removal Tip

Use Your Own Saliva to Remove Bloodstains

By Connie G. Barwick, About.com

Bren Ahearn submitted this tip about removing blood from fabric. Bren writes:

Marty wrote in a previous tip about the difficulty of getting blood out of fabric. I'm a weaver who is just planning my first Cross Stitch project. A former weaving teacher of mine said that a person's own saliva will get that person's blood out of fabric. I put this the test at work a few years ago. I had cut myself and had gotten blood on my shirt cuff. I applied some saliva to the blood spot, and the saliva lifted up.
