Diane's Tip About Adding Seed Beads and Other Embellishments

Use Seed Beads and Other Embellishments to Add Just the Right Touch

By Connie G. Barwick, About.com

Diane submitted this great tip about adding seed beads and other embellishments to Cross Stitch designs.

She writes:

"It is best to finish your cross stitch piece, then attach the beads...otherwise (which I tried!) your strand of floss will get stuck on them as you are trying to complete the rest of your cross stitch. It is very frustrating constantly having to untangle your floss from those little beads!

You can add beads to any cross stitch at all and it will add dimension and just the right touch to your piece. Another good thing to add to your projects are the shimmery floss or any of the new DMC floss (even the glow-in-the-dark for kids!) Be creative. You can even use buttons.
