Marsha's Frame and Fabric Tip

Protect Fabric in Needlework Frames

By , About.com Guide

Marsha has the following tip about putting fabric in hoops and frames:

She writes:

I have been using needlework frames for years. I have discovered that when loading fabric into frames or hoops, it is best that you do not put your fabric outside of the frames. As long as it takes to complete a project, your hands do tend to transfer oils, etc.. to the fabrics surface.

Next time you are putting fabric in a hoop or frame, try rolling the fabric so that you hold the frame, NOT the fabric. Over many years of doing cross stitch I have never had a dirty piece of fabric upon completion!
