Marty submitted this tip about using a thimble. She writes:
I've been a stitcher for over 25 years and I can't stitch without my thimble. Not only does it protect the finger, but I find it helps control tension.
Diabetics should use a needle to protect their work. What is the hardest stain to get out of material? Blood.
The thimble I use has an open top to it and is flesh colored. It is also adjustable. (A one size fits all.) The thimble lets the finger "breathe" and allows for fingernails. Once you use it very hard to go without.
