Monica's Floss Organization Tip

By Connie G. Barwick, About.com

Monica explains how she organizes her Cross Stitch floss. She writes, "I tried using the bag method first but it didn't work for me because the plastic bags would rip or tear and the floss would fall out. I decided to switch to the craft box method and it's worked wonders for me. To start, I purchased a few craft containers that are designed to hold the floss bobbins. Each compartment will hold 5-6 full bobbins of floss, depending on your preference. For labeling, I purchased a set of sticker labels from DMC that have all of the floss numbers. As a result, all of my floss is in order and whenever I need a specific color, I don't have to fish through heaps of plastic bags. I keep all of my extra floss in a small, plastic container for storage. When I run out, I simply refill the empty bobbin from that supply."
