Marty's Methods for Storing and Managing Floss

Managing and Storing Floss for Projects is a Three-Step Process

By , About.com Guide

Marty, explains how she keeps her floss organized. She writes:

"I use the bag method for storing all my floss. Sometimes I have several skeins and bobbins. then when i pick my floss for stitching, if it is not on a bobbin, I will wind it by hand. Winding it by hand gives me more control over the tension and allows the thread to breathe. After I wind the bobbins, I place the bobbins for my project in a craft box by number order. The last thing I do is write/copy the symbols and numbers on a piece of paper and tape it to the inside of my craft box. This way if I'm working on a big project I don't have to go back and forth between the thread list on the pattern and my project."
