Marty's Tip on Washing Large Projects

By , About.com Guide

Marty submitted this tip about washing large projects:

"I washed a large completed project in the kitchen. Since I'm wheel chair bound it is difficult for me to reach up to the top of the shower which would be a logical place to hang the project to drip-dry. So here I am wondering what to do.

Then I though, 'What about the dishwasher!' I used clothes pins and pinned it to the top rack so the piece could drip down. What a wonderful place to dry my project. It was out of sight, not in any one's way. Just put a note on the door telling everyone in the house not to use the dishwasher. By the next morning the piece was just damp enough for me to iron and block."

This tip works for smaller projects too - they will lay flat in the top rack.
