N is for Needle Mini Sampler

Hari-Kuyou, a memorial service for old needles, is held on February 8th in Japan. Broken or damaged needles are stuck into a block of tofu and offered at a Shinto shrine.

Do you save your needles when they wear out? If so, you may want to celebrate Hari-Kuyou in your own way. Stitch the N is for Needle mini sampler in honor of all the needles you have worn out stitching over the years. Then make certain you dispose of your old needles properly in order to avoid injury.

Needles will wear out with time, but one way to avoid broken needles is to keep them organized. Honor your new needles and avoid the need for Hari-Kuyou by keeping your needles safe and ordered by size. The free Needle Candlewicking motif will make a great addition to an easy needle organizer.
