Design Name and Theme
"Best Buds" by The Silver Lining
I stitched this as a gift to one of my best friends and fellow Army wife. Not only does the title fit the bill, but the yellow roses are a significant symbol in the military world - especially that of support of the military spouse.
I will also be adding a special poem or phrase to the project before framing it, but am still deciding on the "right" words for her.
Tools and Techniques Used
This is stitched one-over-one on 32ct antique white linen from Permin of Copenhagen (purchased at Hobby Lobby).
The project calls for 42 colors - both DMC and Anchor, and has no fractional stitches.
Beginning Date: 01OCT2009
Completion Date: 31DEC2009
Advice
- It is a pure confetti stitch party! The only back-stitching in the project is the outlining of the leaves and roses, so all of the detail is in the beautiful color shading that the artist designs with.
- I highly recommend working off of a copy of the pattern so that you can mark the spots you have already stitched. I always use a yellow highlighter & highlight the stitches that have just been done...it is SUCH a big help to be able to quickly compare the non-highlighted spots to the non-stitched spots on your fabric!
