Why Did You Volunteer to Stitch?
I wanted to try some new stitches. All of my projects have been just cross stitch and back stitching. I didn't even know these other stitches existed! The Day Complete Sampler gave me a great opportunity.
What Supplies Did You Use?
I used 14 count black Aida and #699 green (I only remember because I had to have my daughter pick up more for me!) and a pretty aqua color that I am not sure what the color number is, but if you contact me in the Forum, I can tell you.
What I'd Do Differently
- The only thing I changed was the rice stitches. I didn't know what they were from the pattern and had no idea what I was supposed to do at that point! With no computer at home I couldn't ask so I just forged ahead. On those rows I used one thread of green and did the cross stitches and then did the blue over them with the X off set from the bottom one. Hope that makes sense. It turned out to be my favorite part but it doesn't show really well on the picture.
What was your favorite part to stitch?
Those off centered stitches that were supposed to be rice stitches.
What was your least favorite part to stitch?
The words. I think they look too heavy. May redo those later.
How will you use this project?
I hope to make a tote bag for my stitching projects. Pieced like a quilt.
