Why Did You Volunteer to Stitch?
Although I have many projects going and many others I'd like to do "some day", I was interested in learning specialty stitches. So, I decided to stitch the free Day Complete Sampler
What Supplies Did You Use?
I found some antique white 28 count evenweave in my closet. I had a difficult time deciding which colors to use so I looked at other samplers online to get ideas. I finally chose the gold/deep red combo: DMC 725 and DMC Variations 4210.
What I'd Do Differently
- If I was to do this design again, I would change the lettering. For me it seemed a bit large and blocky, very open in comparison to the density of the specialty stitches.
- To compensate for the open space, I added a couple of charms to the stitched words area.
What was your favorite part to stitch?
It turns out the part I feared the most (the rice stitch) was what I liked.
What was your least favorite part to stitch?
The lettering, rather dull after the fancy stitches.
How will you use this project?
I made it into a banner; probably give it away.
