Stitching Dreams was founded in June 2010, when Pippa Slack opened up the online shop with new and original designs. She will also take on custom orders for designs.

Pippa started her career as a cross stitch designer in June 2010, and has been cross stitching for the last 14 years. In August of 2010 she also became a home stitcher for CrossStitcher Magazine.

Advice
- I have stitched for the last 14 years, having bought a William Morris cushion kit which got me completely hooked! I was self taught, but this has never held me back.
- I love seeing a design start to grow, from the first stitches where you can't make out how the design will look, to the last stitch when it all comes together. Nothing quite beats making your own art!
- When stitching always use a frame or hoop to keep an even tension and don't pull the floss too tight.
- You can experiment with how many strands to use on fabric by testing it on a small edge before you start (usually 1 to 3 strands).
Dominant Themes of Designs - What Inspires You?
I love photography and graphic art, so I have taken to converting photographic and graphic art into charts. I believe that cross stitch is a wonderful medium for creating your own works of art for your home.

"Burning Sunset" is one of my popular designs, allowing people to journey to their own special holiday memories whenever they admire the cross stitch piece.
Format of Designs / Stitching Level
My designs are more geared to more advanced stitchers but I reduce the size and colours as much as possible without compromising the design, so less advanced stitchers can give them a go too!
Anything Else You Want to Share?
I will accept pictures from people who would like me to convert custom designs for them as one off's, and only charge once they have seen and are happy with the design I produce.
